Penis Enlargement Surgery (Phalloplasty)

Enlarging your penis by means of surgery has been a subject of the urological literature for many years, but it's only recently that such procedures have become popular.

The operation (called phalloplasty) involves making a small incision just above the base of the penis and releasing the suspensory ligaments, which hold part of the penis inside the body.

The portion of the penile shaft that lays underneath the skin is about as long as the penis and assumes an arched course under the pubic bone. By releasing this arch, the penis is protruded a bit further outwards.

The results are immediate and add an average of 1.5" in length, though 2 inches is not something rare.

There are also procedures to enlarge the girth of the penis. One of these is known as Dermal Graft Augmentation, in which strips of skin with the fat on the under-surface are removed. These strips are then inserted under the skin of the penis through 2 small incisions. This adds approximately 30 - 50% in circumference.

Another procedure, though not as commonly used, is called a Fat Transfer. In this method, a large amount of fat is removed from either the lower abdomen or inner thighs, purified, then placed under the skin around the shaft of the penis.

Penile enhancement surgery is being performed more frequently, but there still seems to be a lot of skepticism and concern among people, both doctors and patients. This, however, is generally the case with ANY cosmetic surgery.

into. Make sure to ask your doctor anything that might concern you!


Potential Complications of penis enlargement surgery

• After surgery, there may be 'scrotalisation' of the penis. This is when  the organ looks as though it's arising from the scrotum instead of from the abdominal wall.
• Sloughing of the skin used to increase penile length. This is because the skin has a poor blood supply and therefore "dies" leaving a deep, ulcerated area.
• 'Dog-ears' are common at each end of the operation scar
• After fat injection, the gains may be dissapear due to re-absorption. Furthermore, nodule formation may appear if the implanted fat does not disappear uniformly. The penis can be left with a deformed appearance, with irregular fatty lumps here and there. Nasty!

Pumps
The most popular of all enlargement devices! Relying on a "vacuum" type of system, tubes are placed over the penis as air is pumped out. This suction effect "inflates" the penis for a temporary period of time. Permanent changes take longer, but can be achieved.

Men who use pumps on a regular basis swear by them! Of course, there are "good" pumps and "bad" pumps to purchase. Some pumps (in the "good" category) are FDA-approved. WeightsThe idea is simple.. hang a weight on the end of your penis, causing the organ to stretch to the desired length. Caution must be taken not to apply too much weight for too long a period of time. The notion of actually weighting down your penis may seem contrived, but it reportedly works. However, it's getting more and more difficult to find sites which actually sell penis weights.... could this be an indication that they aren't as effective as we're led to believe?

Stretching Devices
Similar to the weight principle, stretching devices are used by attaching one end to your penis and tying the other end elsewhere on your body (for example, to the leg below the knee). This allows you to wear the device "all-day". The pulling and tugging can be irritable and, again, caution must be taken not to cut off the blood circulation. But the prolonged stretching that occurs has been known to add inches.
